"We have been labelled 'being different'."
Bea Dušek
Can you tell us about the inspiration behind starting Dušek Décor and what sets it apart from other home decor brands?
We have been labelled ‘being different’, which ultimately began 10 years back, when I started to study traditional upholstery and was driven with a thought to bring accent into interiors. Did not matter if it was about different shape, texture or colour.
Dušek Decor offers a wide range of products, from furniture to accessories. How do you ensure the quality and uniqueness of each item?
The spectrum of the product scale is pretty much hand-picked, shared via ecommerce platform with our amazing followers and this is how we get reassured that what we do is right. We personally visit factories, where we see production from start to finish and we also set up processes for quality assurance prior to loading of each item.
"The customer experience starts when we help the customer with choices of fabrics and materials."
Customer satisfaction is crucial in the home decor industry. How does Dušek Decor prioritise customer experience and ensure their needs are met?
The customer experience starts when we help the customer with choices of fabrics and materials, but the delivery is the most crucial part for client’s satisfaction. It must be on time and perfect.
We monitor approaching due dates of the product to be ready and are proactively reaching out to clients scheduling delivery and white glove service.

"Portuguese brands are under our umbrella, being brought to the Czech market, where they have no competition whatsoever."
Collaboration with different brandS is a key element for the business. What do a brand need to have to spark the interest of Dušek Décor?
We constantly have Portuguese brands reaching out to us, interested to be part of our company portfolio, but truthfully, we are full. The key element for our business right now is to sustain the marketing needs, understand all collections, introduce new brands to local architects and designers and move attention away from minimalism.
In today's competitive market, staying ahead of trends is essential. How does Dušek Decor stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and incorporate them into the collections?
This is an easy question. We selected best in class brands with many talented designers, where the ‘staying up-to-date part’ we leave to them to focus on. Portuguese brands are under our umbrella, being brought to Czech market, where they have no competition whatsoever.
Dušek Décor is breaking silence of minimalism, which has been seeded into many residential projects for over 20 years.
Trends often come and go. How does Dušek Decor strike a balance between following trends and selecting timeless designs that can stand the test of time?
Ha! The answer is simple, Laskasas' design is according to our timeless taste. It is a bridge to elegance without pushing it too much. Lines are simple, but still have the edge of glamour which we like.

"customisation is our biggest differentiator."
Dušek Decor offers customisation options for certain products. Could you tell us more about this service and how it adds value to your customers' experience?
After observing how similar products are presented to Czech clients locally, we realised that customisation is our biggest differentiator. For us (and our brands) this is normal but almost unheard of, especially when it comes to changing dimensions and keeping prices still reasonable.
It does take more work and time to document everything, more communication but nothing beats client’s appreciation. That’s what we are here for.
Looking towards the future, what are some upcoming plans or projects that Dušek Decor has in store for its customers?
- We will continue to do wall art expositions and events;
- We will do at least 2 times per year brand dedicated exposition;
- We will start regularly appearing on local trade shows;
- We will design new residential development projects, introducing new design. It’s about the time.

Picture a project where you had the challenge to choose only one furniture piece - which one would it be and why?
I am obsessed with home bars. In interior space it does add feel for fun, socialising and welcomeness. You can add a coffee machine, LED lights inside and home/office bars give the wow moment for your guests.
To close, what about Laskasas – which piece do you love the most and why?
Very difficult! I am big fan of Rosie collection because of the round corners, finishes and totally crazy about your flower pots!
