Extragenária Association | Renovation of the Activity Centre

Ângelo Valente (Sociocultural Animator) and Sofia Nunes (Gerontologist) founded the Extragenarian Association with the aim of demystifying ageing, so that everyone can live their lives happily, freely and autonomously.

They recently obtained a physical space where they are creating a Community Activity Centre. This space will provide a welcoming and stimulating environment where the elderly can socialise, learn and take part in innovative and enriching activities.

"We've been given an old primary school with three rooms that we're going to rebuild, paint, change the electricity and lighting. In one of the rooms we want to create a homely atmosphere, where our users feel in a dresser, beautiful, inspiring space."

To improve the comfort and quality of life of the elderly people who will be using these spaces, Laskasas responded to the appeal and donated a coffee table and 5 Wellington sofas. See below how these new environments look.
